The psychological footprint of an incident is often underestimated or overlooked in crisis response planning and exercises. Bradford Cole will discuss lessons learned from Sandy Hook, Boston Marathon, Amtrak train derailment, Smyrna, DE prison siege and other tragedies. An innovative approach utilized to connect and engage with victims and survivors will be discussed.

Joining Mr. Cole will be Courtney Grey and Michael Purcaro to share their insights from their respective deployments in these and other national tragedies and critical incidents.

Bradford Cole, Executive Director, All-Hazards Psychological Trauma Responder, K9 First Responders, Inc. (K9FR)

Mr. Bradford Cole, Executive Director, is K9FR's subject matter expert and thought leader.  He has 35 years experience in the security management and investigative professions, including 30 years as an ASIS member.

Mr. Cole was a first responder to the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.  Deployments include Boston Marathon bombings, Amtrak train derailment, Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino homicide, various school and workplace homicides as well as peer support for public safety.  Most recently, Mr. Cole was deployed to Smyrna, DE to assist in the aftermath of the 19 hour prison siege, hostage taking and homicide.

Mr. Cole is K9FR's subject matter expert and thought leader. He has 35 years experience in the security management and investigative professions, including 30 years as an ASIS member.

Mr. Cole is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and trained in Psychological First Aid (PFA), Post Traumatic Stress Management (PTSM), National Incident Management System (NIMS).
