October 24, 2019 - Chapter Dinner Meeting
Security Management Challenges to Protect Renowned University
We are pleased to announce that John DiFava, Chief of Police, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be our guest speaker at the October 24th ASIS Boston Chapter dinner meeting.
Chief DiFava will be discussing the challenges of managing a police force responsible for protecting an internationally renowned university and research center with a population of 21,000 in the middle of a vibrant city neighborhood. He will share with us the complexity of protecting an open campus culture comprised of administration, faculty, students, researchers, staff and neighborhood residents. Protection of the university environment presents a very specific and complex niche in the security industry.
Chief DiFava spent 27 years with the Massachusetts State Police. He began as a trooper and completed his career as Colonel/Superintendent of the State Police. He has been Chief of Police at MIT for the past 19 years.
