Please join us on March 28th for our annual Joint ASIS / IAHSS meeting at the Partners Headquarters building on 399 Revolution Drive in Somerville. This meeting is always a great time and the perfect opportunity to network with our peers in IAHSS. Registration and cocktails will be from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, the meeting will start at 6:00pm. The seating for this meeting is limited to 140 attendees.
This year the speaker will be Mr. Dan McGrath who recently retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department after 26 years with the department. Dan has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Las Vegas. During Dan’s highly decorated career with the LVMPD he held a variety of positions including: Lieutenant Sex Crimes Bureau, Area Command Lieutenant, Narcotics Detective Lieutenant, Criminal Intelligence Lieutenant, Counter Terrorism Lieutenant, Robbery and Financial Crimes Unit, and most recently as the Homicide Section Lieutenant. In the Homicide Section, Dan oversaw hundreds of murder investigations including the tragic events of the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting on October 1, 2017.
Dan will discuss how amidst the chaos, police and private security partnerships combined with technology can play an integral role in mitigating the impact of any future active shooter incident. His experiences, expertise and findings into the mass shooting and what steps can be taken in the future to integrate new training and technologies for assisting with the detection and prevention at public events are invaluable to all safety and security related tragedies.
Please be aware that the presentation will include video footage from the Harvest Festival shooting, some of which is very graphic.
