Meeting Overview:
Integrating Security Systems with RTLS for Enhanced Visibility and Situational Awareness

Knowing the current location, path of travel, or where an asset, staff member or patient has been is a dream of most security practitioners. This kind of insight is invaluable to the administration of a sound security and asset protection program. Unfortunately, getting this kind of information from typical access control, alarm and video systems is almost never “real-time” and is not often usable in a proactive sense. Today, this dream of security practitioners is coming true! By integrating facility security systems with Wi-Fi based, real time locating systems (RTLS), true visibility and live situational awareness is a reality. Wi-Fi “tags” that can be placed or worn on just about anything can be “seen” anywhere within the Wi-Fi environment. These solutions provide an entirely new, and invaluable, toolset for the security professional.
